Ozanam Orientations are designed to set up our new Vincentians for success and re-energize those Vincentians who have already served. All new Vincentians are asked to attend an Ozanam Orientation within their first year in the ministry; current Vincentians should attend an Ozanam refresher every 3-5 years.
The Rockford Diocesan Council holds four or more Ozanam Orientations per year around the Diocese. Unless otherwise noted, the Orientations begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays, with check-in open at 8:30 a.m. Orientations end at 3:30 p.m. Ozanam Orientations are the foundation for our understanding of the Society and of our growth as Vincentians. Through these orientations, we learn about our heritage, our call to holiness, our call to serve the poor, poverty within our communities, and about the Home Visit, the core of our work with those in need. It is an opportunity to introduce the Society to new members and to keep long-time Vincentians up to speed and invigorated. Whether you've been a Vincentian for one month or ten years, you'll enjoy this day. You'll meet people from other Conferences and come away with a new enthusiasm for your vocation. All session locations are open to anyone, whether you are in the district or council that is hosting.
