Request Assistance

If you are in need of assistance you can contact the Society of St. Vincent de Paul through our hotline (815-761-0430) or submit an online request below.

* Please note that our helpline and online request form are available between 8am Sunday - 5pm Wednesday only so please submit a request within this time frame. One of our volunteers will call you within 48 hours after you submit your request. The number we call from will be listed as Private, Unknown, or Hidden so please pick up - it might be us!
What happens after my form/voicemail is submitted?
Once you submit your assistance contact request, a volunteer will contact you by telephone within 48 hours to ask you a series of initial questions related to your need. The number we call from will be listed as Private, Unknown, or Hidden so please pick up - it might be us! You should allow about 5-10 minutes to talk to the volunteer. The volunteer will explain whether your request is eligible for further review.

If your request is eligible…
Our Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference will decide by the end of each week which requests can be scheduled to receive a neighbor home visit the following week. These individuals are contacted directly by the neighbor visit team to arrange the exact date and time for their visit.

If you are deemed eligible but are not selected to receive a neighbor visit the following week, you will be notified by email or text message and given the option of whether you would like to remain on our waitlist to be considered for a visit over the next 30 day period.

We try our very best to respond to each neighbor in a timely manner, though we appreciate your patience as we do receive many requests each week. Please know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers and that we look forward to visiting with you as soon as we are able.

If your request is not eligible…
The volunteer will try to recommend to you what other community resources might be better able to assist you.
