We strive to serve God's people within the Northern Illinois DeKalb County communities of DeKalb, Sycamore, Cortland, Hinckley, Kirkland, Malta, Lee, Shabbona, and Waterman regardless of religious affiliation, race, sex, age, or social status. If you are not a resident within one of these communities, please contact the Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference or Roman Catholic Church where you live. Proof of residency is required.
If you live within one of the communities listed above and are in need of assistance you can contact our Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Marys and Christ the Teacher DeKalb/Sycamore conference through our helpline (815-761-0430) or submit an online request below. Please note that our helpline and online request form are available between *8am Sunday - 5pm Wednesday. Please submit a request within this time frame. One of our volunteers will attempt to call you within 5 business days after you submit your request or leave a message. If you have a blocking feature on your phone you must turn it off so that our call will go through. If you have not set up a mailbox on your phone for us to leave a message please do so. The number we call from will be listed as Private, Unknown, or Hidden so please pick up - it might be us!
*If the form will not allow you to submit during this time frame, or our helpline is turned off, it is because we have reached the maximum number of requests that our volunteers can call back within 5 business days. If that is the case, please try again the following week. Thank You!
What happens after my form/voicemail is submitted? Once you submit your assistance contact request, a volunteer will contact you by telephone within 5 business days to ask you a series of initial questions related to your household and need. The number we call from will be listed as Private, Unknown, or Hidden so please pick up - it might be us! You should allow about 5-10 minutes to talk to the volunteer. The volunteer will explain whether your request is eligible for further review and will try to recommend to you any other community resources that might be available to assist you.
We try our very best to respond to each neighbor in a timely manner and we appreciate your patience as our volunteers handle the many requests we receive each week. Please know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers and that we look forward to visiting with you as soon as we are able.
